It's done!

This morning I called the 'Studentensekretariat' which is in charge of students changing their addresses, changing the majors etc. between courses - I had Latin 1 and for French 'Jewish characters in literature and film'... I explained that I had received this letter about me being accepted for law, but that it is at my parents and that I had no chance to get the letter and show thzem in time. I was told that a simple letter written by me explaining the situation would be enough, but they also reminded me not to forget my student ID.
So I went to the 'Studentensekretariat' in the afternoon and got my subject changed and now I'm officially a student of law at the Goethe-University Frankfurt/Main!
It's so incredible and I'm soooo happy!!!

Great news!!!

I just came home from a very, very boring university course which I have to take for French when my phone rang. It was Jenny who wanted to hear what university's like for me. We talked for hardly 5 minutes when my mobile phone rang - it was my Mum... I told her to call me later cause I was just talking to Jenny and hung up. Then, after about 30 minutes she said she had to hang up cause Emergency Room (the new season where John has to look for Luca in Africa) was about to begin. I was so surprised that there was finally a good series I could actually watch (I still haven't managed to install all the programs :-( ) it took me till the next commercial until I could call Mum. She first asked what university ws like till today and I was a bit annoyed cause I would have come home the following weekend either way, but the she suddenly said: 'Oh, and there was a letter for you in the mail. I wouldn't have opened it, but it was from the Goethe-University in Frankfurt and so I thought it might be something important. It says you're accepted for to study law.'
Imagine how happy I was. I just came home from this absolutely boring course and wondered how I might survive this during the next few months and now this!!!
I'll seriously be studying law!!!

university schedule

I'm currently about to re-arrange my schedule for the 6th time or so. I had to change it every day and it starts to get really annoying. I had it planned really good. Lessons on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the rest of the week time to study on my own and work a bit. But then I realized I had forgotten some courses I have to take. So back to the schedule and working it out once again.
Then, after I had it all made up perfectly (like before, plus a course on Friday morning) I was told that the stupid Latin course is either Mon, Tue, Thu from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00a.m. or Mon & Wed 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. ... Some stupid idiots think a teacher needs Latin in order to teach languages - yes, sure, to be so frustrated when the real business life starts to be mean to the poor kids or what?!? Well, I'm not really nice when I have to get up early so I planned to take the course from 10:15-11:00. Bad thing was, I realized I could hardly take any interesting courses with Latin at that time. So I re-arranged it again and then I saw that they had changed some times for the courses I wanted to take. Once more, I sat there with a pen and a sheet in front of my computer.
And then, just before I left Frankfurt to visit my family, I saw that I have to change the whole stuff again cause I can't come home once a week to do the laundry unless I'll come home each weekend - and who wants to leave a great city like Frankfurt to come home to a small town like Seckmauern?!? No one!!!

First visit at my parents'

I just came home the day before yesterday from university and my own apartment. It's really great in Frankfurt and I enjoy living on my own, but it's still nice to see my brother and the rest of my family. Today I'll go back home to Frankfurt again and I can't wait to start university tomorrow, though it's this stupid Latin course Which I have to take in order to take the exams in about 4 semesters. Really ridiculous if you ask me - I'll never ever need Latin while teaching English and/or French.
But before this I met my friend Julia yesterday. We talked and went to the movies (The Terminal - great movie!) and had a really good time. It's weird to be so 'far' away from my friends. Then, at midnight, I went to Michael's birthday party. He's the person I'm friends with since I was born. We grew up together, went to kindergarten and school together, had fun, argued, and still meet every once in a while. It is his 21st birthday today, so:
Happy birthday, Michi!!!

I moved!

So now, I moved to Frankfurt/Main yesterday and I really like it here. The whole bus-, subway-train-system is a bit confusing, but I'll find my way!
Since I don't have internet access at home I'm at the university at the moment. Luckily, I got a computer immediately, but I don't know whether this will stay that way in the future. Courses have not yet started.
I just found out when my assessment test will be... On Wednesday at 12p.m. :) I can't wait, but I'm also a bit nervous.
Yesterday, when I was trying to find a building (well, I really tried, but since I forgot the address at home I had no chance), I 'accidentally' found the Hugendubel (huge book store, 4 huge floors of paradise) and bought 'Maus' by Art Spiegelman, a graphic novel. So far I didn't start reading it cause I started 'Eats, Shoots And Leaves' by Lynne Truss on October 3rd and I want to finish it before I start another book.
I still can hardly believe I'll start university this month. It's so weird, I actually don't really feel ready, not a bit ready for this. It's strange and crazy, but I'll get through with it.
